Boost for GYSDA
Tuesday 8th April 2008

By Lamin Darboe

Last weekend, the Gunjur Youths and Sports Development Association (GYSDA) benefited from a donation of sporting materials. These items were donated by Martin Jammeh, a native of Gunjur together with his wife Aleson and friend Kate. The items included a set of Jersey and trophies.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, held at the Gunjur Upper Basic School, Martin Jammeh said the sport items will be the first of many he hopes to donate in future.

He revealed that the trophies were presented in the name of Bubacarr Jatta alias Boy Nenneh who passed away last year.

He said “ Because of his immense contribution towards the development of sports in Gunjur. This is why we name these trophies after him”.

Faburama Darboe, Vice President of GYSDA, commended the donors for their support and called for more support from people from the area.
