Upper Nuimi District Tournament Reaches Final
Monday 17th March 2008

By Modou Jallow

Mass Sosseh of Kerr Mama and Fass Omar Saho football teams, will be facing each other in the final of the upper Nuimi District tournament slated for a later date in March 2008.

In a semi final played recently, Kerr Mama defeated Lamin 2-1, to book their tickets to the final.

Lamin took the lead in the first half through a penalty but the lead was short lived when in the second half Mass Sosseh came from behind to level the scores and netted the winning goal through its formidable striking force.

Fass Omar Saho, another team known to have produced good footballers from the area, also earned a 2-1 win in their match against Price.

Organised by the Upper Nuimi Sports Committee, the tournament is solely sponsored by Honorable Cherno Omar Jallow the National Assembly member for the area and featured 21 teams from surrounding villages.

The winner will go home with a giant trophy and cash prize of D7,000 while the runners-up will receive D4,000 with a trophy.
