Journalist Fatou Jaw Manneh’s Case Deferred
Wednesday 12th March 2008

By Dawda Faye

The case against Fatou Jaw Manneh could not proceed yesterday, 11th March 2008 because the magistrate supposed to preside over the case was not available. The case was as a result adjourned to 17th March 2008.

Fatou Jaw Manneh was in court on Monday, 10th March, 2008, and was told to come back the following day. She returned accordingly, only to be told that the case was adjourned to 17th March 2008.

The case that has been dragging for a long time, has also suffered series of transfers.

It was transferred from Kanifing Magistrates’ court to Banjul Magistrates’ court, from where it was sent to Brikama Magistrates’ court.

The High Court received the case from Brikama Magistrates’ Court but now it has been referred back to the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court where it started.
