COVID-19 epidemic spoils 2020 May Day Sports

Coronavirus outbreak in The Gambia has spoiled the 2020 May Day Sports event. The annual occasion which observed 1 May of every year is cancelled this year as part of measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

The event brings together people from different works of life and institutions to interact and participate in various sporting disciplines such as tag of war, athletics and music. The yearly event will not take place this year due to coronavirus outbreak.

The May Day Sports event is organise by the National Sports Council (NSC) to foster unity and understanding among workers in The Gambia.
