Magistrate Concerned As Road Accidents Soar
Wednesday 30th January 2008

By Soury Camara

Magistrate Sagarr Jahateh of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court has added her voice to a growing number of voices calling for sanity on our roads.

As the country continues to experience an upward spiral in the rate of road accidents in recent times, Magistrate Jahateh pointed out the need for violators of the Highway Code to face the full wrath of the law. She added that perpetrators of road accidents should not go scot-free, saying that relatives of victims of road accidents should be passionate about pursuing cases revolving around accidents.

The magistrate made these remarks when a road accident case, involving a life was withdrawn by the victim’s family.
